Meet Mel & Jackie
What happens when two sisters, Mel Day, a retired chef, and Jackie Kirby, a retired lawyer, move to Florida and find themselves with a ton of free time on their hands? We decided to open a food truck to sell simple, fresh and delicious food to our friends, neighbors, & friends to be.
After we hit on the name, Daybreak Brekky & Brunch, our search began for a special truck, small, efficient & happy-looking. A year later, we found our little truck, a 1993 Subaru Sambar, but it was located in Tokyo, Japan. After "Brekky" was delivered to Jacksonville, we got her into shape, painted her the happiest color on Earth (sunshine yellow), designed our menu, installed tiny equipment, passed food tests, purchased business licenses & permits, & hit the road to sell the kind of food we enjoy, simple, fresh & delicious.
We look forward to you visiting Daybreak Brekky & Brunch for delicious coffee & luscious pastry or one of our freshly-made sandwiches, fruit parfaits, crunchy salads, or popcorn balls. Being a tiny truck, we cater small events so call us when you have an occasion you want to celebrate in a special way!
